I had problems upgrading to Windows 10 and kept receiving the error code 80240020. This video shows how I resolved the issue on Windows 8 computers. I have since used the process successfully on 8 computers.
Although this video worked for me and many, others (see comments) if you choose to follow you do so at your own risk.
UPDATE (30 July 2015) …
A few of the guys and girls commenting have been struggling but I think this is primarily due to a few common factors…
Does your system meet the minimum specification required for the upgrade?
I’ve notices the download for Windows 10 has varied from 2.7GB to 8GB+. Bear in mind you not only have to have the space to download this file but to unpack and install this as well. In the case of the 8GB download I would recommend at least 20GB of free space before attempting the upgrade.
Is your current operating system fully updated?
Since purchasing your Windows 7 or 8 computer have you been keeping on top of installing your updates?
If you have never updated your systems software then you may need to do so before it allows you to receive the Windows 10 download.
As mentioned above your computer needs to meet the minimum system requirements prior to being allowed to upgrade.
There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of users all trying to download this massive upgrade at the same time. If you download is slow or errors mid download then this is probably one of the contributing factors. I have not yet had a computer I’ve not been able to upgrade. You just need to be patient.
If all else fails you can download Windows 10 ISO’s here:-
Enjoy Windows 10.
