The purpose of a UPS (Uninterruptible power supply) is to provide back up power to vital devices during a power cut.
The entire system cost ~£50 (incuding CCTV) and is capable of delivering up to 700w for around an hour and a half.
This could be greatly increased by linking the system with another rack of batteries.
The SLA (Sealed lead acid) batteries are second hand from an alarm installation company, we got them for less than 50p each.
