From 1980 until 1996 (with a brief gap in 1994), if you flew in or out of Hartsfield International Airport, you probably rode the little subway train there. If you did, you probably also remember the robotic voice that dispensed instructions, information, and warnings onboard the automated train. That was HAL, the unofficial moniker given to the voice, a reference to computer in 2001: A Space Odyssey. I was a kid back then, and hearing that voice brought back a few memories.
