Pioneering Scottish classical guitarist Simon Thacker toured Pakistan in early 2015, with tabla master Sarvar Sabri, and was asked to reimagine a Pakistani song in solidarity with the victims of the Peshawar school atrocity. Simon reworked Dil Dil Pakistan, Pakistan's "2nd national anthem" (originally by Vital Signs and Junaid Jamshed, who tragically died in a plane crash on 7th Dec 2016), transforming it for classical guitar and tabla. The duo performed it on PTV, Aaj TV, ARY TV and state radio, as well as in 7 concert performances. See more at www.simonthacker.com/simon-thacker-in-pakistan . This studio recording was made at Slate Room Studios in Scotland soon after the tour. Sound by Garry Boyle, video editing by Ruth Barrie/Waltzer Films.
