Every year at the beginning of the great hunting season the Kuru warriors celebrate a rite of fertility rooted in mythology. Each of the hunters who must be married and over 26 years old digs a hole to reach the rocks beneath the earth. To the Kuru this is the womb of the earth and it must be fertilized for it to bear animals to be hunted. They masturbate in the hole so as to fertilize the earth with their sperm. At the moment of orgasm they must think of the animal that will be hunted. Hunting is sacred among tribes who practice it in Africa.
