NEW YORK — The US-based Breast Cancer Research Foundation is displeased with the recent hashtag trend that invites people to post images of themselves holding a can of Coca-Cola between their breasts.

#HoldACokeWithYourBoobs was the brainchild of Danny Frost, a talent scout with an agency called Elite Talent Referral, and a model known as Gemma Jaxx. The pair wanted to make a parody of the incredible cultural sensation that's become known as the “Ice Bucket Challenge.”

After setting up a Facebook page the “hold a Coke with your boobs” trend caught on and the Internet is now full of images and videos of people, thankfully mostly women, with Coke cans and bottles wedged between their breasts.

A spokesperson for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation issued a statement saying the hashtag campaign trivializes breast cancer and is disrespectful.

Following the backlash from the foundation, the hashtag founders issued a statement explaining their "campaign" is simply a joke and is not connected to breast cancer or breast cancer awareness in any way.

What do you think? Is this silly, stupid or genuinely offensive?
