Top 10 Cricketers banned for match fixing
10) Herschelle Gibbs
Herschelle Gibbs was playing for South Africa and banned for 6 months for match fixing.
Initially agreed to under-perform in an ODI game against India, but reneged on the deal and scored 74 off just 53 balls.
Former captain Hansie Cronje had offered him $15,000 to score "less than 20" in the 3rd ODl of the series.
9) Danish Kaneria
Danish Kaneria was playing for Pakistan and banned for life for spot fixing.
He was found guilty by an England and Wales Cricket Board disciplinary panel and banned for life.
Pakistan Cricket Board agreed to abide to the decision. Kaneria appealed the decision in 2013 but the ban was upheld.
8) Hansie Cronje
Hansie Cronje was playing for South Africa and banned for life for match fixing.
Found guilty of accepting monetary rewards from bookmakers for forecasting matches.
He challenged his life ban in 2001 but his application was dismissed.

Mohammad Asif was playing for Pakistan and banned for 7 years for spot fixing.
Asif was found guilty of bowling no-balls as planned no-balls against England in August 2010.
In 2011 he was sentenced to 12 months in prison for conspiracy to cheat at gambling and conspiracy to accept corrupt payments.

Ajay Jadeja was playing for India and banned for 5 years for match fixing.
He was banned on allegation of having associated with bookmakers.

S. Sreesanth was playing for India and banned for life for match fixing in IPL.
He gave 14 runs in an over as planned in an IPL match for Rajasthan Royals against Kings XI Punjab on 9 May 2013.
He was arrested on 16 May 2013 for accepting money from bookies to underperform, but was released on bail a month later.

Bowling planned no-balls against England in August 2010.
In 2011 he was sentenced to six months in a young offenders institution by a Court in England.
