For Anweshaa Datta Gupta, the quaint 19-year old, hailing from Kolkata, West Bengal, there's no looking back, post her memorable musical ride on the Indian television reality show -- Amul STAR Voice of India -- Chhote Ustad, in 2008. Trained in Hindustani classical music from the tender age of 4, under the patronage of Shri Jayanta Sarkar, Anweshaa got her first musical break in playback singing the same year, for the Hindi movie "Golmaal Returns". Parallely, she has sung for regional film industries as well. Noteworthy in her playback career are songs like "Banarasiya" from the film "Ranjhaanaa" composed by A R Rahman and "Megam Vanthu Pogum", by Vidyasagar, for which she bagged her first music award in Tollywood (2010), among others. She has also sung for Bengali movies like Khela (2008) and Proloy (2013) to name a few. Anweshaa has had her tryst with Rabindra Sangeet and Modern Bengali songs too through her albums Epathe Anweshaa, Ebar Safar, a yet-to-be released Tagore song album, et al.
In a heart-warming tete-a-tete with Bhamoti Basu of Calcalling TV, Anweshaa unfolds in front of us, all colours! We wish her all success in her journey ahead!
