You will learn about "Newton's First Law of Motion" in this video. Sir Isaac Newton was one of the greatest influential scientists of all time. He formulated the 3 laws of motion.
Newton's First Law of Motion states that an object will continue to remain at rest or uniform motion unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force.
Let us consider an object at rest, like this ball. This ball will not move unless some kind of force acts on it, proving Newton's law. Newton's law also states that this ball will continue to stay in a state of constant velocity in the absence of an unbalanced force. This is hard for us to understand, as in human existence, we have always seen and believed that a moving ball will ultimately come to rest. The reason this happens is because there is an unbalanced force called the force of friction acting on the ball, making it stop. In the absence of frictional force or any other unbalanced force, this ball will continue to move with constant velocity, proving the second part of Newton's First Law of Motion.
