Akshay Kumar, who has done realistic films like ‘Special 26’ and ‘Baby’ in the recent past, will be seen in yet another thrilling fare, which is based on a real-life incident. The film in question is named ‘Airlift’, which stars Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in the lead roles.
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, ‘Airlift’ is based on the biggest human evacuation in the history of mankind, which happened during the First Gulf War when a NRI businessman named Ranjit Katyal helped get 1,70,000 stranded Indians out of war-torn Kuwait during the Iraq invasion.
With the help of Katyal, these Indians managed to survive the Iraqi invasion and travelled thousand kilometres across the border into Amman, from where the largest human evacuation operation took place.
