General Zia ul Haq, Pakistan's Dictator in the 1980s made life a living hell for Pakistani Ahmadis. He introduced the infamous Ordinance XX that criminalized the daily lives of Ahmadis around the country. Thousands were rounded up. Many Ahmadi businesses were burnt down, people killed or forced to leave. The fourth Khalifa of the community, who miraculously emigrated under these conditions, warned Zia of the wrath of God if he did not stop persecuting his citizens. Just 5 days before his plane "blew out of the sky," Mirza Tahir Ahmad had warned him of his end. Clips courtesy: MTA International.
