Tutorial for how to fold and how to fly the Boomerang Airplane designed by Jeremy Shafer.
This model works best folded from ordinary printer paper (8 1/2-inch by 11-inch). A4 paper should also work. It can also be called a Flying Magic Carpet or Flying Staircase.

Getting this model to come back to you takes a lot of experimentation. I sometimes even have trouble getting it to come back. Experiment with the angle you throw it at, how hard you throw it and how much the pleats are stretched out. The basic principle/assumption that I used to design it is that the wider and shorter a paper airplane is the harder it is to get it to go straight! So, for instance, if you notice it naturally turns to the left, then try to tilt it more to the left as you throw it to make it curve even more. Stretching the pleats out more will give it more lift and make it wider, which may help to get it to curve more. Good luck!

Hope you're liking these videos and thanks to all of you who have bought my book. That's the best way to support what I do.
