Pakistan Children's Television (PCTV), an initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is a unique endeavor aimed at the development of quality educational programming for children, implemented by Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop in collaboration with Sesame Workshop. Pakistan Children's Television extends basic education and life skills content to Pakistani children through a series of multi-media programs and outreach materials specially designed to reach children who may not have access to schools, effective teachers or learning materials.
The overarching goals of Pakistan Children's Television are to develop the language, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities of children and to promote positive attitudes towards diverse and marginalized groups in a culturally sensitive manner. Pakistan Children's Television also seeks to support in-country capacity to develop and produce educational television programming and encourage public-private partnerships to develop and sustain educational media for children.
