(Note from the Director) Imran Khan has being an inspiration for many Pakistanis around the globe. Almost all Pakistanis are aware of his life achievements and struggles but not all westerners are. So I came up with an idea of making a documentary in English and with subtitles that can inform the world about the living legend of Pakistan.
I started my research through news articles about his story, then watched 100+ hours of his video footages on YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo and wherever I could find something new or interesting. I collected 15 hours out of 100+ hours of footage that I transcribed into bulk of papers, forming a story out of it. It was a long struggle before I even went on editing the video. My first lineup was 35 minutes. It was a journey of 5 months before I shared the final piece with PTI social media team. During my journey, my professor Cohen, Arthur R, supported me throughout to make this film.
The whole idea was to create an experienceable film where the viewer is subconsciously guided throughout the process of Imran Khan’s revolution in Pakistan. Imran Khan has given more to Pakistan than Pakistan gave him. His efforts in mobilizing the masses of Pakistan including the people from all walks of life made him The Rockstar of Pakistan.
