Every year, the Raiwind Congregation attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees to the small railway town of Raiwind (located on the main line). In order to meet the excessive demand, PR runs at least 5 special trains from the South and the North to this town just a few miles from Lahore.
This year, in addition to the special trains, the branch line trains i.e. Karakoram Express, Akbar Express, Millat Express and Pakistan Express were diverted to the main line and run via khanewal-Sahiwal-Raiwind-Lahore. This route was applied only for 12th-14th November. I was only able to capture one special, 41 up and 23 up on the 13th. Note that there was a time when both Karakoram Express and Quetta Express used to run on the main line but now run via faisalabad because of better revenue potential.
Trains: 41 up (11:15 am), 23 up (10:45 am) & Rnd Spl (9:22 am)
Location: Green Town Halt
Locomotives: ZCU 30, ZCU 20, GMU30
