Akbar's mother decides to take Akbar's place and handle all responsibilities until Akbar is well again. Meanwhile, Shareef-ud-Din slaps the 'hakim' when she predicts that Bakshi Banu will give birth to a girl. Shareef-ud-din gets furious with his wife when she too asks for a girl as her child. Shareef-ud-din feels that a girl will always lead to insult for the family and says that he needs a boy to take forward his lineage. Just then Jodha enters and feels the tension between Shareef-ud-din and Bakshi Banu. Bakshi Banu later asks Jodha to not come to meet her as she is disgusted with her husband's behaviour. Later, Jodha tries to advice Akbar to get everything sorted out and sit on the throne like a true ruler. Will Akbar who has decided to give up his throne out of sorrow listen to Jodha? Find out here.
Jodha Akbar is a sixteenth century love story about a political marriage of convenience saga between a Mughal emperor, Akbar, and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa. But much more then that it's the marriage of contrasts.
