So this is what it's like to be up at 4700m on the highest international paved road crossing in the world.

It's the border between Pakistan and China and we usually make our way up here with our mountain bikes just to enjoy the exhilaration of free-wheeling downhill.

Not only that but as the cargo trucks don't set off from Sust till later, it's pretty much traffic free. Just the mountains and wind rushing past your ears for company.

Unfortunately, this video was taken when this section of the KKH was still to be tarmacced (Sep 2011) so it was essentially a dirt road and therefore quite a lot slower than we would have liked. It should be fully renovated by 2013 so I guess that means we'll just have to come back for the speed!
