There’s a reason most zoos have signs up saying “don’t feed the animals,” but evidentially, these modern additions to zookeeping have yet to reach China.

Over the weekend, a nine-year-old boy and his grandparents decided to spend the afternoon at park in China’s Henan province.

The park is called a “zoo,” but it would be more accurate to describe it as a “place that’s home to a variety of cages in which various animals are confined.”

One cage with a bear in it caught the eye of the young lad, and--being a nice kid--he thought he’d give the bear a bit of a snack he’d brought with him.

The bear gratefully took the snack, but you know the old saying, “give a bear a snack and it’ll rip off your arm.”

The poor kid lost most of his right arm to the bear’s jaws and doctors say there no chance it can be re-attached.

No word on whether the bear will be euthanized or simply put on an accelerated bile milking schedule for its transgression.
