"Too Many Pattern Attempts" with Wi-Fi / Mobile Data disabled - in Airplane mode?
Follow these steps to enable Wi-Fi / Mobile Data so your Google credentials can be authenticated and your phone unlocked without a factory reset!
"Too Many Pattern Attempts" require you to enter Google Sign-In to unlock. If Wi-Fi and Mobile Data are switched off you cannot authenticate online to unlock. The phone will be locked but can receive calls.
Note this procedure will require the feature USB Debugging enabled under 'Developer options' before it was LOCKED.
Connect the phone to the computer.
Verify that the phone is connected and the USB notification is shown on the notification bar.
Open the folder containing adb.
More info on how to install adb please check out other video
Open command prompt.
In my case "C:\adb"
adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
This will copy the settings.db from the device to the current folder location.
Leave this command window open, we will come back to this in a moment.
Using an SQLIte Database editor edit 'settings.db'. I used Firefox Add-on SQLite Manager.
Select the table -- 'secure'
To turn on Wi-Fi
Scroll through and find 'wifi_on' and change its value to '1'
To turn on Mobile Data
Scroll through and find 'mobile_data' and change its value to '1'
[Note: Values '0' for OFF and '1' for ON]
Close the database and SQLIte Manager.
Go back to the command window.
Now send the edited 'settings.db' back to the device.
adb push ./"settings.db" /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
Once this is successfully pushed to the device, unplug from computer and restart device.
The device will power back on to the Authentication screen but this time with the Wi-Fi / Mobile Data on.
You can now enter your credentials and the device will authenticate connecting to the Internet. You then then reset your security pattern or pin.
