Ruth Handler, co-founder of Mattel Toys, watched her daughter Barbara and friends play with paper dolls of grown-up women, and imagining themselves in grown-up roles. She had an idea: to make a teenage doll that little girls could play with. In the '50 Germany, madame Handler found Barbie "mother"... this is a brief story of Barbie's origin.
