A man was killed in central Taiwan on Monday after he was run over by a cement truck.
Shocking dash cam footage caught by a witness caught it all on camera. The scooter driver is seen wobbling briefly before tumbling beneath the cement truck’s churning wheels.
The driver who caught the footage is next seen speeding up to catch up with the cement truck whose driver repeatedly yells back, claiming he didn’t run anyone over. After several attempts the truck driver is finally convinced to at least stop and verify his claim.
When the police arrived they determined that the fatal accident, was just that, an accident. And that it was caused by uneven paving along the side of the road.
The 61-year-old driver of the cement truck, identified as a Mr. Liu, insists that he didn’t realize what had happened until the dashcam driver flagged him down. Another witness scoffed at the claim, pointing out that it should’ve been obvious when the entire carriage of the truck lifted as it rolled over the victim’s body.
Scooter drivers are warned by Taiwanese authorities to use caution when attempting to pass larger vehicles and trucks.
