Neil Patrick Harris hosts the Oscars for the very first time!

Today’s news feed is brought to you by XFINITY, the future of awesome… So get with it, because it’s time to get excited!

Hey everybody, you’re back at Clevver’s Trophy Life Coverage where we’re breaking down the 2015 Oscars- and you know… With Neil Patrick Harris adding- hosting yet another award show to his resume… We’ve narrowed down the 9 best and Worst moments from his performance during tonight’s big show.

Now, he definitely opened strong --- Kicking it off IN the best way the tony winner knows how, and of course I’m talking about his signature musical number, that he totally killed by the way! --- And ohhh did we mention he was joined by none other than Anna Kendrick and Jack Black? Because… well… I mean why not, It is the Oscars rightt?

And of course he wasted absolutely no time before the jokes started rolling out --- but not everyone was quite as amused as Neil was. I mean, just check out Oprah’s reaction to this one:

Alright… So I don’t know about you guys, but ending up on Oprah’s shit list is probably one of my ALL time biggest fears in life….

(MAYBE) I’ve got big dreams guys, okay?

Moving on… The next minor downfall of Neil Patrick Harris hosting tonight, involved mispronouncing MULTIPLE names.

Alright fine… so maybe that last one was intentional… but still!

There was also quite a bit of shade throwing that went down tonight. From opening the show with… Well… this….

To calling out Annie by claiming IT will NEVER receive a remake ever again… to making a reallllly quick reference to the Lego Movie’s awkward snub for Best Animated Feature, even though they did choose to feature a super unorthodox performance of the movie’s hit song just moments before…

Ohhhh yes and then of course there was that moment where he totally called out Dana Perry… One of the winners for Best Short Subject Documentary…

But not too worry; apparently Dana took no offense… And actually laughed it off saying, quote, “That’s adorable. I invite anyone to feel my furry balls.”

And while we’re on the subject of wardrobe, did anyone notice that Neil had just about as many costume changes as a Katy Perry concert? Just pointing it out. But side note: suit game strong.

Now for hands down one of Neil’s funniest moments of the night, We’re talking this beautifully hilarious tribute to… Birdman? Honestly, if you haven’t seen that movie you’re probably going to be like… really confused. -- Oh and then they also involve Whiplash somehow… I don’t even know. Just watch:

Ahhh yes, anddd then there was the moment everyone was waiting for... John Travolta’s first return to the Oscar since this tragic, yet glorious, now cemented moment in pop culture history.

But hey! As we saw this year --- there are no hard feelings between the two… And before Menzel brought out her new pronunciation challenged bestie on stage --- NPH graced us with this gem:

And finally… Let us leave you with the most anticlimactic aspect of tonight’s show… As well as Neil’s hosting responsibilities… The absolutely ridiculous and played up importance of his “Oscar predictions” for the evening, ended with this spoiler alert:… Wait actually… I take that back. There is no spoiler. It was actually pretty pointless and boring to be honest. But don’t worry, his signature song and dance number in the opening monologue made up for some of his… Not as entertaining moments…

And with that, we wrap up our 9 best and worst moments from Neil Patrick Harris hosting at tonight’s 87th annual Academy Awards. So I HAVE to know, what did you think of his performance tonight? Sound off in the comments below,
